What does RBI do?

A division of Reed Business, part of Reed Elsevier, RBI is the leading business information provider in the UK. It has a portfolio of market leading publications, directories, electronic products, online services, industry conferences and awards.

Where is it located?

Broadly speaking RBI UK comprises: RBI Sutton and London, which focus on business magazines, online publishing and online recruitment; and RBI Search in East Grinstead, which publishes business directories and reference books in hard copy and online. Quadrant, our subscription and fulfilment division, is in Haywards Heath. Farmplan, our agricultural software company is in Gloucestershire. We publish Irish Medical Times in Dublin and we have regional sales offices in Manchester & Stoneleigh. We have other offices in the UK and overseas.

Does RBI recruit people outside their home country?

RBI will only apply for work permits for foreign nationals if there are no suitable candidates resident in the UK or who are nationals of the European Economic Area (EU states plus Norway and Iceland). The British Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 requires that all successful candidates be asked to provide evidence of their immigration status and eligibility to seek work in the UK.

What career development processes are in place?

Each year you will have a formal performance review as part of our personal development programme. This process reviews your achievements against your objectives, and confirms your objectives for the coming year. As part of this discussion, you will consider your strengths and development areas to create a plan, which will help to identify your potential career path.

How formal is the RBI interview process?

The recruitment process has elements of formal and informal selection. We use ability testing and personality profiling along with competency based interviewing techniques as well as more standard interviewing techniques and questions.

Who will interview me?

At a first stage interview, you could expect to meet a human resources representative along with the line manager. During the hiring process, you may also meet team peers.

How long will the selection process take?

There are no set stages to the selection process, and for more senior roles you could find yourself meeting us on several occasions before we reach a final decision. At all times, we aim to operate efficiently and effectively, and to minimise your time investment to the selection process. Our process is rigorous and transparent, so you should always know which stage you have reached, and you will have one point of contact throughout selection. We aim to make the recruitment process as short as possible. We understand the pressures of looking for work while still employed and aim to operate efficiently and effectively, to minimise your time investment into the selection process.

When will I receive my offer letter?
